This is fine, except when you do finally get to bed you end up wondering how long you have got before your kids start to stir. Then it appears like your eyes have only just closed when you hear a sound from down the end of the corridor and you have to leap into action to protect everyone else in the house from your kids.
Suddenly, however tired and grumpy you feel your day has began, and there is no going back to bed.
This is the reason why a full size trundle bed is such a good invention. The kids go to sleep and you crawl in latter in a bed just next to them. Then when they get up early you pull them in with you and gently cuddle them, regardless of how squashed it is, just so you can dose for that extra hour.
So the best reason in the world to get a full size trundle bed is to let your guests with kids get as much sleep as possible, without them worrying about being horrendous guests who will never be invited again.
